Malkia Strikers are preparing for the FIVB Women’s World Championships set for September
Malkia Strikers coach Paul Bitok has picked positives from the side's defeat in a build-up match that the team played on Friday night in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Kenyan ladies fell by straight sets to Osasco Volleyball Club (25-22, 25-19, 25-23) but Bitok believes there was tremendous improvement noted in the test match that comes after a three-week training in Sao Paulo.

Despite losing 3-0 to the Brazilians, the technical bench has noted great improvement in back court defence, service-reception and transition attack. pic.twitter.com/87kX6Z0JXp
The tactician singled out attack and reception as the areas where he has noted great improvement while at the same time highlighting blocks, service, and back court cover as areas that the team needs to focus on.
"While we lost this match, there has been tremendous improvement in the reception and Attack , though with a few challenges on blocks , service and back court cover. Over the next couple of days, as we continue with our training, we plan to improve on this challenges prior to the next friendly match against OSASCO on Friday next week," Bitok wrote.

Last week, Bitok exuded confidence that the side will give a good account of themselves when they participate in the FIVB Women’s World Championships set to be hosted jointly by Netherlands and Poland from September 23 to October 15 this year.
The team is currently preparing for the championship in an FIVB-sponsored camp in Brazil and play Osasco again next week before another week-long camp in Serbia.
